Beyond an Egg, A Testament to Resilience
Eggcited Farm is not merely a farm; it is a story of passion, grit, and the extraordinary power of food. Founded by former restaurant owners Christie and James, our journey started with three hens and a commitment to good food that evolved into a thriving, regenerative-certified, pasture-raised egg operation nearing 3,000 hens. We demonstrate the belief that the greatest culinary experiences begin not in the kitchen, but in the soil—a philosophy we've literally rebuilt to defend. We offer an unparalleled setting for a farm with a story of loss and miraculous survival, now flourishing to produce the highest quality ingredients.

The Story of Resilience and Purpose
Our path to becoming full-time farmers was forged through passion and tested by fire—or in our case, wind.
The Unexpected Calling: Our transition began organically: from three backyard Silverlaced Wyandottes to 95 hens on 3 acres, all fueled by a desire to know where our food came from. We scaled up, embracing mobile coops and learning the transformative power of chicken manure on soil health, committing us to regenerative agriculture for its environmental and flavor benefits.
The Chef Connection: We successfully opened and ran a popular restaurant, only to be forced to close at the onset of the Omicron wave. This difficult decision solidified our complete focus on the farm and reinforced our commitment to producing exceptional ingredients for the culinary world.
The Miracle of the F4 Tornado: In November 2022, our farm and home suffered a total loss from a direct hit by an F4 tornado. We survived the storm inside a shipping container, which was picked up by the tornado, landing us a football field away from our farm. This event was not our end, but our affirmation. Observing the 100 surviving birds, we knew our mission was not complete. We chose to rebuild everything from scratch with an even deeper commitment to the land. Today, we are regenerative certified and proudly supply Burgundy's Local, Whole Foods Market and our local community.

The Culinary Connection: Marrying the Farm and the Chef
At Eggcited Farm, food is our passion, and our connection to the kitchen runs deep, creating the perfect synergy for a memorable experience.
The CIA Graduate: Our son, Ryan, is a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY). He has built his career from the age of 14 working in the family restaurant to high-end culinary environments, including managing food preservation during COVID for the Tuxedo Club and currently working as a chef at The Ranch at Rock Creek.
The Product & Place: Beyond our celebrated pasture-raised eggs, we cultivate a small bounty that speaks to our heritage and the soil's health: Grandma's heirloom purple hull pea seed (100 yrs of seed saving), a new peach orchard, and a blackberry patch. Our goal is to offer a true, interconnected expression of place.
We firmly believe there is something Magical when you combine the farm and the chef. Our recovered, thriving land—a place where a story of destruction turned into a story of creation—is not just be a meal; it is a powerful, top-of-the-line Experience that celebrates the spirit of resilience and the incredible flavors that come from healthy soil.
