Grace & Light Foundation Co. Mission Statement

"The Grace & Light Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to providing essential recovery assistance and safety to Texas residents who suffered loss due to a tornado. Our mission focuses resources on individuals and families who were denied or overlooked by major assistance programs, including the installation of storm shelters for qualifying low-income families in need of a safe place to shelter."

Divine Intervention: The Story That Sparked Our Mission

On the evening of November 4, 2022, a monstrous F4 tornado tore through our farm. We sheltered in a steel shipping container—the safest place we knew—but the storm had other plans. In an agonizing moment of chaos, the tornado picked us up, tossing the container end over end, slamming us against the walls like crash test dummies.

In the darkness and debris, I died. I experienced a heavenly white light, saw loved ones waiting, and knew peace. But I spoke aloud the words that brought me back: "Oh God, it is not my time, my job is not complete."

I awoke buried chest-deep in wreckage, my husband unconscious and not breathing nearby. In the pitch black, I screamed for help, but it was divine intervention that saved him: a single, dim light instantly shone onto his calf, guiding me to dig him out. I pulled and screamed, and he finally gasped for air.

Injured and unable to see, we were lost. Again, I cried out to God, and a light beam shimmered, illuminating a recognizable gate. The most miraculous part? As we made our way to the farm by the guided light, I saw our entire 40 acres lit up like 6 AM, guiding us to safety. Everything was gone but I saw our truck, my husband had the keys, and we drove to the highway for help.  Later, we learned the path we drove through was perfectly parted, as if by a bulldozer.

From Denial to Dedicated Service

Fast forward three years: despite losing everything—our farm, our camper, our equipment—we were denied assistance by FEMA and received minimal aid from other sources. We witnessed firsthand the devastating reality: people losing everything only to be turned away and spoken to unkindly by the very places meant to help.

This experience proved two things:

God’s Grace and Light saves lives.


The most destitute, overlooked survivors desperately need a last-resort lifeline.


That is the testimony that birthed the Grace & Light Foundation.

We are not just about recovery; we are about rebuilding lives and providing the safe places we needed ourselves. Your support helps us provide safe places to shelter, (storm shelters) and essential assistance for families who have been overlooked and denied by all other major aid programs.  

These are not luxuries; they are necessities—the kind that could save a life when the skies turn dark once more. Together, we can turn tragedy into triumph and ensure no one has to face disaster alone.
